KAPSCH TRAFFIC SOLUTIONS has been nominated as the Toll system's Contractor

The CONSORTIUM “KAPSCH TRAFFIC SOLUTIONS” has been nominated as the Toll system's Contractor in the public procurement for the design, construction and implementation of an electronic toll collecting system for the use of the national road network.

The system shall be distance-based for vehicles of Total Maximum Technically Permissible Laden Mass exceeding 3.5 tons (toll) and time-based for light vehicles of Total Maximum Technically Permissible Laden Mass up to 3.5 tons (electronic vignette). The Chairman of the Management Board of Road Infrastructure Agency, Engineer Doncho Atanasov signed the decision for the ranking of tenderers in the procedure and for the nomination of the contractor in the public procurement.

According to the announced criteria for the evaluation of “The most feasible and economically profitable tender proposal”, the ranking of tenderers is the following:

• CONSORTIUM KAPSCH TRAFFIC SOLUTIONS – with a total score of 100 points;
• CONSORTIUM TOLL BULGARIA – with a total score of 74.27 points.

The time period for the implementation of the public procurement shall be 19 months. The construction of the toll system shall be for the expense of the selected contractor. After its successful deployment and implementation, the investment should be paid back through the collected revenues.
