Minister Terzieva and Eng. Chaykov Verified the Construction of Vratsa Bypass
The Minister of Regional Development Desislava Terzieva and the Chairman of the Management Board of Road Infrastructure Agency, Eng. Stefan Chaikov, verified the progress in the construction of the bypass of the town of Vratza - road I-1 (Е79) from km 0+000 to km 6+816,60. The Project is cо-financed by the Cohesion Fund of the European Union and the national budget through Operational Program Transport 2007-2013.
The Project is implemented within schedule and if it does not rain next month the bypass will be completed for the Holiday of Vratza – at the beginning of June, Minister Terzieva announced.
The total length of the section is 6,817 km. The investment is for over BGN 14,6 million. The Project includes the construction of a road junction, two four-branch crossroads and a roundabout and so on. Association Obhod Vratza, which Trace Group Hold AD, city of Sofia and PSI AD, town of Stara Zagora participate in, is the Contractor. Traffic Holding EOOD will exercise the construction supervision.
The alignment of the bypass is along the route of Pan-European Transport Corridor No ІV. Being section of road E-79, it will serve as a transport link between three European countries – Romania, Bulgaria and Greece. The transit flows in North-Western Bulgaria are more intense as a result of the commissioning of the second bridge over the Danube River at Vidin – Kalafat. The direction is used more intensively as the shortest route between Western, Central Europe and the White Sea, as well as a link of Europe with Asia.
