The Repair of 10 km of Hemus Motorway in Varna District Begins

AM_Hemus-photo03.jpgThe repair works of 10 km from Hemus Motorway on the territory of Varna District begins. Two sections will be repaired. The first consists of 6 km from the Nevsha road junction and the Mlada gvardiya road junction (from the 375th km to the 381st km) and the second is 4 km long and is within the Devnya Region (from the 389th to the 393rd km). The repairs include full renovation of the asphalt pavement, restoration of the drainage, new horizontal markings, as well as repair of the adjacent road facilities.


 

The road maintenance company has been ordered to organize full mobilization at the site, since the goal is to complete the repair works as fast as possible, bearing in mind the upcoming tourist season.

First the carriageway to Varna will be repaired and the traffic in the two sections will be served bidirectional in the carriageway to Sofia. After completion of the repair works of the carriageway to Varna, the carriageway to Sofia will be closed and the road vehicles will use the already repaired carriageway to Varna.

In the section between the 375th and the 381st km., at Nevsha road junction the connection to the Motorway will be restricted and the motor vehicles travelling to Varna will be re-directed to the I-2 Ruse – Varna Road and will switch in Hemus Motorway at Mlada gvardiya road junction. Upon the start of the repair works of the carriageway to Sofia, the exit of the Motorway to Nevsha and Belogradets at Nevsha road junction will be closed. The exit of the Motorway will be at Mlada gvardiya road junction. Switching to Hemus Motorway at Nevsha road junction will be restricted and the motor vehicles traveling to Sofia will use the I-2 Ruse – Varna Road near the Kaspichan road junction.

At the section between the 389th and the 393rd km, the Neofit Rilski road junction will be closed and motor vehicles can use the I-2 Ruse-Varna Road and connect to the Hemus Motorway at the Devnya road junction. The motorway exit in the direction of the village of Gabarnitsa and the village of Neofit Rilski will be at the Vetrino road junction. Upon beginning of the repair works of the carriageway to Sofia in this section, the exit to the villages of Gabarnitsa and Neofit Riski will be at the Devnya road junction.

Drivers need to drive carefully and abide strictly to the road signalization and the 90 km/h speed limit.
