Photo_013.jpgThe damages caused to the National Road Network by the floods and the heavy rains in the last two days are in the amount of over BGN 10 million, the initial evaluations indicate. By order of the Chairman of the Road Infrastructure Agency experts of the Regional Road Administrations commenced inspections of roads and structures – bridges, retaining walls, culverts, etc., immediately after the water drained off.

The objective is to take the needed preventive measures within maximally short terms and to limit the additional damaging of the elements of the roads – shoulders, ditches, and undermining of the retaining walls. The road network in the regions of Smolyan, Burgas, Varna, Dobrich, Kardzhali and Haskovo is the most affected.

There are activated landslides of earth mass and hazard of falling down stones in a lot of places due to over-moistening of the soil. Drivers should drive with increased attention and at lower speed.
