Sale of Vignette Stickers for 2014 Starts Up
The Minister of Regional Development Desislava Terzieva and the Chairman of the Management Board of Road Infrastructure Agency, еng. Stefan Chaykov presented the vision of the vignette stickers for year 2014. Their sale has started and up to the beginning of Christmas Holidays – 20 December, there will be over 1.8 million vignettes of the various kinds and for the various categories of motor vehicles in the distribution centers. The annual stickers for cars will be over 1 million of them.
The price of the vignettes for cars remain unchanged for the fifth consecutive year. The annual sticker is in the amount of 67 BGN, the monthly one is 25 BGN, and the weekly one – 10 BGN. The prices for motor vehicles of category 1 and 2, which include heavy-weight trucks and buses, also remain unchained. Category 3 includes cars.
As each year, Road Infrastructure Agency has changed the graphic layout of the vignette stickers this year as well. They are with higher protection thus decreasing the possibility for their forgery. The colors of the vignette stickers and their protections are changed. The base of all the vignettes is made of special paper, which the graphic and protection elements are located on.
Two holograms are built up into the stickers. The first of them is with the so called first level of protection for visual recognition. It is voluminous and with permanent colors. A protuberant figure “4” is seen. The second hologram is with 3D effect. It is different for the various kinds of vignettes and contains additional protections. The vignette sticker will be destroyed during an attempt at pulling off and its repeated use.
Road Infrastructure Agency recommends the drivers to buy vignette stickers solely from the centers officially defined for the purpose. These are the big petrol stations and trade chains, the offices of Bulgarian Posts, the regional road administrations and the Border Control Checkpoints. Vignettes are sold in over 3300 distribution centers. The complete list of the distribution network is published on the Internet site of Road Infrastructure Agency – www.api.bg.
The annual vignettes for year 2013 for all the kinds of motor vehicles shall be valid up to 31 January 2014.
Over 6.1 million numbers of vignettes were sold from the beginning of the year to the end of November. The accrued revenues are in the amount of nearly 216 million BGN. The proceeds grew up by over 7% or by about 16 million BGN with regard to the same time period of the last year, Minister Desislava Terzieva pointed out. There is an increase in the sales of monthly and weekly vignettes for trucks and buses, as well as of the weekly, monthly and annual ones for cars. The growth in the sales in annual stickers for cars is 6%, in the monthly ones - 10%, and in the weekly ones it is 4%.
The revenues from road charges and permits issued by Road Infrastructure Agency from January to the end of November are in the amount of nearly 9.5 million BGN. They were over 8.9 million BGN for the same time period of last year. This represents growth of over half a million BGN.
